Thirty years of service and counting…

Many language communities in Chad are discovering the transforming power of Mother-Tongue Scriptures and other related language development activities. This partner currently serves over 40 language communities and other partners, assisting them to meet their goals in Bible translation, Scripture engagement, linguistics and literacy by providing a range of services and training. Many of these services and training courses are facilitated from our partner’s center in the capital city, which includes office space, a training center, an academic library, short and long-term housing facilities and an educational resource center.

"In order to continue serving language communities in Chad for many years to come, much of the center’s infrastructure and systems are in need of upgrading. This project aims to raise additional funds for this essential work to be carried out, and our top priority right now is solving the energy crisis that has arisen due to increasingly unreliable city provision of electricity. The cost of running two generators, which run alternately, has now exceeded SIL Chad's financial capacity. Maintenance costs and the high cost of fuel are four times higher than their budget covers. As such, SIL Chad's most urgent need and highest priority is to install a solar energy system to power the center, where SIL Chad's office is located in the capital city, N'Djamena."

Thank you for considering partnering in Bible translation with Wycliffe in Chad through your financial and prayer partnership of the Chad Center Upgrading project.
