Nema Language Program Village Housing
The Harrisons work in the Nema language area, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea, striving to bring about vernacular literacy, Bible translation, and Scripture use for a community of about 2000 speakers.
When the Harrisons are in the Nema area, they live in the village of Kokosan in a house constructed by the community from bush material. This bush house will need to be re-roofed and reconstructed many times by the community in the next decades of the project which is a burden to the community. The house is also not conducive to long-term living in the area with young children, nor very effective for translation and other work. Because of these reasons, Wycliffe has approved the use of funds to build a house for the Harrisons to live in that would facilitate being in the Nema area and doing Bible translation and other related work. The Harrisons are excited that there is now a memorandum of agreement signed with the land owner and much of the required lumber for the house has been cut.
Thank you for considering partnering in Bible translation with Wycliffe through your financial and prayer partnership of the Nema Language Program Village Housing project.
