We feel led to help support the translation process currently underway in the DRC with the Mangbetu people. They have been waiting a very long time to read God's word in their native tongue. We are asking you to come alongside us and seek God for what part he might have you play in this work.
The money raised goes directly to project expenses which include salary, travel and workshops for the local staff, office supplies and equipment, consulting and training, and also field support which includes project development, planning, monitoring, reporting, as well as maintaining field relationships. The money goes a long way! The process of Bible Translation is arduous and time consuming.
The Mangbetu have been wiaitng for over 30 years for God's word and only have 2 books of the Bible so far. Civil war and infighting among clans have been just a couple of the reasons why it has taken so long. Missionary teams have come and gone and experienced a lot of spiritual warfare - even among church leaders. Satan is hard at work to prevent the gospel from fully reaching the Mangbetu.
We take for granted our access to the Scriptures. There are Bibles in the book stores, online, in every seat in every church. Imagine receiving the Words of God for the first time in a language you can finally understand! It's hard to comprehend.
Please join us in this campaign and ask the Lord what part of the eternal story of the Mangbetu He wants you to play. Maybe it's a one time offering. Maybe He's asking you to partner long term with this project to see it through to 100% completion. Maybe he wants you just to pray. Whatever it is we thank you for your willingness to be inovled.
Some day Mangbetu souls will see you in Heaven and thank you for being a small part of their eternity!
