Featured Photo From the Field: You're Never Too Young

You are never too young or too old to follow God’s call.

Beatriz and Marcos were very young when they knew that God was leading them into Bible translation. Beatriz was only 13 years old and Marcos was 16 when they began their training at Horizontes America Latina.

Horizontes is a Brazilian organisation that is training students to serve God cross-culturally. It was founded by David Botelho, who believes that the potential of young people has been untapped by the church. “This is a new generation of missionaries who will revolutionize the world.”

Beatriz and Marcos are now living in Central Asia. They are learning the language and customs of the community they have come to serve.

“There are things I can only express in my own language. So I feel that people should have the same privilege that I have. Someone did it for us, so why not do it for someone else? I don’t picture myself doing anything else. I love it. It’s hard. But it’s good – it’s beautiful,” says Marcos.

They know that this is a lifelong commitment. But they are ready. They’ve been preparing for this very thing for most of their lives already.
